Collaborative Projects

ELEVATE serves as a coordinating hub for patient-centered research and innovation, partnering with investigators and health systems to meaningfully engage stakeholders across the lifecycle of clinical and translational projects. ELEVATE is pleased to offer consultation, coordination, and partnership.

ARC to HEArT is a human-centered design initiative that addresses a critical blind spot in cesarean delivery care: the absence of structured emotional support within perioperative workflows. Building directly on insights generated through ELEVATE, this project uses ethnographic interviews, co-design with patients and clinicians, and equity-centered methods to understand how communication, presence, and perceived agency during cesarean delivery shape postpartum mental health outcomes. The goal is to translate these insights into practical, system-level design solutions that embed empathy and emotional care into routine cesarean practice.

EAGLET is a multicenter, patient-centered comparative effectiveness trial being developed in partnership with the ELEVATE network. The study seeks to determine whether early conversion to general anesthesia, compared with continued intravenous analgesic management, reduces postpartum trauma and PTSD symptoms among patients experiencing refractory pain during cesarean delivery under neuraxial anesthesia. Designed for submission to the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI), EAGLET reflects ELEVATE’s commitment to addressing real-world clinical uncertainty through rigorous, patient-informed research.
